I, needless to say, have been converted to a dog fanatic by my happy-go-lucky, goofy, little puppy. She has the most amazing personality & fits right into our little family.
It’s hard to believe that my little fur ball pup is now one year old. Pete and I got Nico last March, a few months after I began working from home. Pete had been wanting a dog for a couple of months, and I was beginning to see the benefits of having some company while I worked. After a little extra nudge from Pete, I – previously a non-dog person – decided I was finally ready for a dog. We knew we wanted a puppy that we could train and would be good with people. It soon became obvious that a Golden Retriever would be the perfect breed for us (and we were right – we’ll likely have Goldens from now on). A few weeks later we brought Nico home and completely fell in love. I, needless to say, have been converted to a dog fanatic by my happy-go-lucky, goofy, little puppy. She has the most amazing personality and fits right into our little family.
Another unintended benefit of getting a dog has been a new, adorable subject to photograph. I’ve always enjoyed photography and have had a blast documenting Nico’s first year. Puppies grow fast, and I wanted to have plenty of photos of her first year of life to look back on. Now that her first birthday is here, I decided to compile a few of my favorite photos of her into a slideshow.
